Ştiu că nu e frumos şi că o domnişoară educată nu face asta, dar mie-mi place foarte mult să mâzgălesc cărţile pe care le citesc. Nu ştiu exact care să fie motivele. Poate o fac pentru a lăsa un semn că am fost pe acolo sau poate vreau să personalizez cartea şi s-o fac a mea. Poate că astea două sunt de fapt acelaşi motiv. Cele mai persecutate mi-au fost manualele şi cursurile. În generală era destul de tragic momentul de la fiecare sfârşit de an când trebuia să dăm manualele înapoi. Ale mele erau mereu pline de porci! I just found out today the guy died. On the 27th of January, at the age of 91. There was no media fuss about it, except for sporadic articles about his love life, his seclusion from the world and the existence of unpublished manuscripts. I was thinking of putting some links, but most of them are have little informational value, they’re mostly after the sensational in the life of someone who didn’t much seem to care for it. There are, however, a cuple of decent ones in The Guardian and one in Time Magazine The only Romanian article that I found, which actually bothered... 

Sunt câţiva oameni care mi-s tare dragi, în ciuda faptului că întâlnirile noastre au fost mai degrabă trecătoare. Mi-au lăsat una sau mai multe amintiri cu zâmbet şi mi-a plăcut de ei. via Plevi, as always. Florence and The Machine Although the name was never one of my favorite, Florence (Florenţa) writes some of the nicest lyrics I’ve heard in quite a while. Not to mention they also have a point, just like “move, bitch, get out the way“. Also, the songs are so “crowded” with layers of sounds that everytime you listen to one, you find new elements you hadn’t noticed before. It’s like the dessert I had at Cosmo, with whipped cream, forest fruit, syrup and meringue, you gradually discovered stuff you love which mixed...

I was quite happy to see that it was in the library here in Coventry. Unfortunately, because it was an original DVD, my stupid Acer wouldn’t play it. So now, with my new cheerful Dell (Ren is his name, by the way!), I managed to finally see it. I didn’t think much of the plot when I read it on IMDB last year, yet I must say that the movie is marvellous! I love the fact that although it talks about... 

Am dat, via Billy, de o mişcare destul de interesantă – asemănătoare cu a de-ţi ziceam acum vreo lună-două. Işi spun New Economics Foundation şi susţin o modificare de “paradigmă” [iertare, n-am putut să rezist!] economică, de la economia bazată pe creşterea continuă a nivelului de consum la o economie sustenabilă şi eco-friendly. Ce mi-a plăcut la ei e ca nu-s aşa de SF ca băieţii de la The Venus Project, care propun abolirea banului,  şi că explică pe înţelesul tuturor cam ce se întâmplă în economia internaţională în momentul... 

New term starts today. Big hopes for this little bastard… Since Coventry hasn’t seen any snow for a while,  I think you can relate to the picture better than I can, but we might relate to the song just as strong. Get other freebies from Re-freshers fair 3.  Go to theatre and check out the A night less ordinary program which gets Onuk in for free, as she is a midget 4. Another day inside the house. Cold still not going away. Between cups of lemon tea, soup and tangerines I started watching Califonication. So far, the emphasis is on fornication. Still feeling extremely happy about the good news I got yesterday. Oh, right, I forgot to tell you. I got accepted to the first stage of the LEONARDO programme, a European Union work placement thing! So, starting February I’ll regain my knowledge of the Spanish language and with a bit of luck I might even become an intern somewhere in Spain (Malaga, Madrid or Barcelona, they all sound lovely to...
